Correspondence to Alma Mahler, 1948-1949.

One item is an essay dedicated to Alma Mahler entitled "Der Himmelstempel in Peking." In the letter to Thomas Mann (a copy of which Burchard apparently sent to Alma Mahler), Burchard says that she was one of a group who spent the war years and immediate postwar years in Shanghai, and she relates her experiences as a person in exile to various works of Thomas Mann. The letter from Schwarz concerns his returning a book to Alma Mahler, on behalf of Burchard.
